The most famous and most popular beach in the island. The fine, white sand and the accessible, green waters make this beach ideal for families with small children. It is located to the southwest of the main village. The lake Ammouliani, which has given the island its name, is also located nearby. The lake is well organized, with a choice of beach bars and camping services.

Agios Georgios

An uniquely beautiful beach, with golden sand and irresistible blue-green waters. The beach is named after a small church, which is located nearby and is located only 1,5 kilometers away from the main village. There are umbrellas, sun beds and refreshments on offer. You can find also some greek “taverna”, where you can enjoy a sumptuous meal of fresh fish


A small, alluring creek which is located 2 kilometers to the west of the main village. Enjoy emerald green waters and a landscape that just begs to be explored. There’s also a small kiosk, where you can get a coffee or some refreshments.

Megali Ammos

Megali Ammos is located at the easternmost point of the island, right after Agios Georgios. It offers a commanding view of the Drenia islets and Mount Athos itself. It is a relatively popular spot with thick sand and blue-green waters. There’s also sun beds, a beach bar and a tavern.


If you’re looking for crowds and beach bars then this beach is definitely not for you! Your only companions will be the sun, the sea and the sound of the waves marking the delightfully slow passage of time. If you like fishing, Faka is definitely worth your while. The beach is located to the northeast of the main village and is ideal for moments of absolute peace and quiet.


A small, quiet and very clean sandy beach, located to the north of the main village. Ideal for lovers of solitude and relaxation. Getting there by car is not recommended. Olive trees and thick clumps of reeds offer welcome protection from the hot sun.


A small and picturesque beach, to the northeast of the main village. It offers protection from the wind and is ideal for peace and relaxation. Enjoy your siesta in the comforting shade of pine trees, with the sound of the wave lulling you to sleep... This is heaven!

Drenia islets

To the northeast of the island, lies a cluster of small islands. The islands of Agios Nikolaos, Elia, Spermeno, Pontiki, Nikita, Palamari are also known as “Gaidouronisia” (which means “donkey islands” in English). Swim in all shades of blue and green, take a stroll on golden sands and explore picturesque creeks and sheer cliffs. It’s an ideal place for swimming, sunbathing and relaxation.
